Naples airport closed 1-30 November 2026: flights move to Salerno, including Paris with Transavia

Published · VolClaim

Naples Capodichino airport is closed to air traffic from Sunday 1 to Monday 30 November 2026 while its runway is fully rebuilt. Some flights are moving to Salerno Costa d'Amalfi airport, including the Paris route operated by Transavia France, according to ADV Training.

A month of runway works

According to TravelNoStop and Napolitan.it, which report announcements by airport operator GESAC, the works replace the surface of the runway and taxiways across about 250,000 square metres and upgrade the runway lighting and signage. Around 500 people are working around the clock. FullTravel Trade reported in September that the works themselves should take about 24 days, with the rest of the month kept as a buffer for bad weather; any earlier reopening would have to be officially confirmed.

Which flights use Salerno?

ADV Training says fifteen destinations are served from Salerno during the closure. For France, the only route listed is Paris, operated by Transavia France; FullTravel Trade places it at Paris Orly. Transavia also flies to Amsterdam, with Vueling to Barcelona, Iberia to Madrid, Eurowings to Düsseldorf and Stuttgart, easyJet to Milan Malpensa and Ryanair to Bergamo, among others. The sources we reviewed do not say what happens to other regular flights between France and Naples.

The Lufthansa Group is suspending all flights to and from Naples from 1 to 30 November, according to its travel-agent information site. Napolitan.it adds that ITA Airways is replacing its Naples-Rome Fiumicino flight with a coach service.

Getting from Naples to Salerno

GESAC and Busitalia Campania are running a coach between Naples central station (piazza Garibaldi) and Salerno airport: eight trips a day in each direction, timed to flights, at 12 euros per trip, according to Napolitan.it and ADV Training. The journey takes about 1 hour 15 minutes and is only open to passengers holding a flight ticket for the same day. A fixed-fare shared taxi to the central stations of Naples and Salerno is also being trialled, TravelNoStop reports.

Flight moved or cancelled: your rights

If your flight is cancelled, the airline must offer a refund or rerouting. A cancellation announced at least 14 days before departure does not, as a rule, give a right to compensation of 250, 400 or 600 euros under EU261. If the airline flies you to or from Salerno instead of Naples, it should in principle cover the transfer to the airport you booked or to a nearby destination agreed with you: keep your receipts. A late cancellation notice or an arrival delay of 3 hours or more is assessed case by case.
