Only delayed, cancelled or diverted flights are listed here (flights that are on time are not eligible for compensation and are therefore not shown). Indicative data provided by a specialist third-party service (AeroDataBox), refreshed twice a day. Only flights departing from the main airports served by the 20 airlines tracked by VolClaim are covered. Always check the official information with your airline if in doubt.
A delay of at least 3 hours on arrival, a cancellation announced less than 14 days before departure or denied boarding may give a right to €250 to €600 per passenger. Our guides explain what to do, step by step.
No upfront costs: 25% incl. VAT only if successful.
Choose an airline and a date: only flights that are currently delayed, cancelled or diverted appear in the table above (a flight that is on time gives no right to compensation). If your flight appears, click "Check my eligibility" next to the corresponding row: the VolClaim form is automatically pre-filled with the flight number, the date and the airports concerned, for a free check of your right to compensation.
This list only covers the 20 airlines tracked by VolClaim. If your airline does not appear in the menu, you can still check your eligibility directly with the calculator by entering your flight details. To find out more about the delay thresholds that give a right to compensation, see our delayed flight guide.
When an airline cancels your flight, European Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 entitles you, at your choice, to a refund of the ticket or re-routing, as well as care (meals, refreshments, accommodation if necessary) while you wait.
You can also claim fixed compensation of €250, €400 or €600 depending on the flight distance, unless the airline informed you at least 14 days in advance or the cancellation is due to extraordinary circumstances (for example an air traffic control strike or extreme weather).
A delay gives a right to compensation when you arrive at your destination 3 hours or more late. The amount depends on the distance: €250 up to 1,500 km, €400 between 1,500 and 3,500 km (and for intra-European flights over 1,500 km), €600 beyond 3,500 km.
It is the delay on arrival that counts, not the delay on departure. Keep your boarding pass and any message from the airline: they serve as proof.
The most frequent causes are technical problems, knock-on delays affecting the same aircraft, strikes, weather and air traffic control congestion. Only certain so-called extraordinary causes exempt the airline from compensating you. An ordinary technical problem or a strike by its own staff is generally not one of them.
What is the time limit for claiming compensation for a cancelled or delayed flight?
The time limit varies depending on the country where the claim is brought. In France, it is generally 5 years from the date of the flight. It is better to act quickly, while evidence is easy to gather.
What should I do if my flight is cancelled today?
Ask the airline for re-routing or a refund, keep your receipts for expenses (meals, hotel, transport) and note the reason given for the cancellation. Then check your right to compensation with the VolClaim calculator.
Are flights that are on time eligible for compensation?
No. Only flights that were cancelled or arrived 3 hours or more late can give a right to compensation (some diverted flights may also be concerned). That is why this list only shows disrupted flights.
